Polgen 1.4 Released

MITRE have announced version 1.4 of Polgen, their automated policy generation toolset. In this release, support for reference policy has been added, while Polgen Specification Language (PSL) may be used to bootstrap policy development.

Certifiable Linux Integration Platform (CLIP)

Another release from Tresys: a new project called Certifiable Linux Integration Platform (CLIP). This is a reference SELinux implementation intended as a basis and toolkit for developing custom deployments suitable for certification under Director of Central Intelligence Directive 6/3 “Protecting Sensitive Compartmented Information within Information Systems” (DCID 6/3) Protection Level 4 (PL4) requirements.

SETools 3.1 Released

Tresys have announced the release of version 3.1 of SETools. This release includes several changes, notably, the ability for all tools to load sets of policy modules, improving the analysis coverage when loadable modules are being used.

SLIDE 1.0 Released

Tresys have announced the release of version 1.0 of SLIDE, their graphical Eclipse-based policy development enironment. The 1.0 release includes improvements to online help and documentation.

New Upstream SELinux Release (R070123)

Initial Release of Madison

Karl MacMillan has announced the first public release of Madison, a new project for GUI policy generation. This initial release includes a python framework library and a new tool for generating policy from audit logs.

New Reference Policy Release

Tresys have announced the release of Reference Policy v. 20061212. This release includes support for a number of new high-level macros for common policy patterns, as well as general fixes and support for several additional application packages.

SETools 3.0.1 Released

Dan Walsh has announced the initial release of a GUI tool for managing SELinux. This is currently available via yum repository, and will be merged upstream & integrated into Fedora after more development.

SEDarwin Released

Chris Vance of Sparta has announced the first widespread release of SEDarwin. This is “a port of the TrustedBSD Mandatory Access Control Framework to Apple’s Darwin operating system platform, along with a Type Enforcement policy based on SELinux”. The SEDarwin web site includes download and installation instructions for Mac OS X 10.4.7.
